We Filipinos are known for our caring culture. It is a part of our upbringing to care for our family, especially our elders. In our culture, it is considered a privilege to be able to take care of one’s parents. This care extends beyond our households, as we provide care and support to friends and neighbors as well. It is in our nature to help those in need, regardless of our resources. This is one of the reasons why Filipino nurses are highly respected and admired worldwide. At MeCare, we strive to uphold this core value of caring in everything we do.
The founders

MeCare is a homecare business founded in 2021. The company operates in Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa. We are four people behind the company- my wife, Linda Deloso, and I, and two other friends, Raymond and Melita Rivera. My wife and I have master’s degrees in nursing, while Melita is a registered nurse in the Philippines, now completing her practical nursing studies in Finland. Raymond is a chef and an entrepreneur. Linda, who is born in Finland, has a first-hand experience with the Filipino approach to caregiving after spending a year volunteering as a nurse in the Philippines. Although none of us have prior experience as healthcare entrepreneurs, our shared passion for providing high-quality care to elderly people motivated us to start MeCare. Despite the stringent process of starting a healthcare business in Finland, we were able to launch MeCare after two years of planning and obtaining the necessary permits.
Technology and MeCare

MeCare is also a company that is well-suited to the current digital age. I completed my Master’s degree in Welfare Technology in 2020 and was subsequently recruited to work as a project researcher in the Technology Department of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. Through this role, I gained a deep understanding of welfare technologies and built a strong network of people and companies in the healthcare tech sector. This experience inspired me to incorporate technology into MeCare’s identity, as we are dedicated to meeting the needs and promoting the well-being of our clients. We carefully consider the suitability and effectiveness of the technologies we recommend, ensuring they enhance our clients’ quality of life.
We care = MeCare

The word “Me” in MeCare means “we” in Finnish. At MeCare, we strive to truly care about our clients and provide them with the utmost care and attention. As Filipinos, we have a strong desire to care for our loved ones back home, but because we are far away, we channel this desire into caring for our clients. We strive to provide the same level of care and support that we would give to our own parents and grandparents, in the same way that Filipinos traditionally do. This commitment to caring sets MeCare apart from other companies.
